CBE for Kevin Curley
Kevin Curley has been awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honour’s list, announced on Saturday 16 June. The CBE has been awarded to NAVCA’s former Chief Executive for his services to the voluntary sector, which included nine year’s at NAVCA.
Kevin Curley said, “This award encourages all those who believe that local voluntary action is a vital part of our democratic life. It needs a supportive government and supportive local councils if it is to flourish. It needs local funders who understand how grants for local voluntary action and neighbourhood work can achieve so much more than restrictive contracts. This is all under threat now and I will work with those who seek to mitigate this threat and defend local voluntary action.”
Everyone at NAVCA congratulates Kevin for this much deserved award to a real champion for local charities and community groups.
